Why I left Google. What happened to my book. What I work on at Facebook. » THINK OUTSIDE IN

Why I left Google. What happened to my book. What I work on at Facebook. » THINK OUTSIDE IN: "Google is an engineering company, and as a researcher or designer, it’s very difficult to have your voice heard at a strategic level. Ultimately I felt that although my research formed a cornerstone of the Google social strategy, and I had correctly predicted how other products in the market would play out, I wasn’t being listened to when it came to executing that strategy. My peers listened intently, but persuading the leadership was a losing battle. Google values technology, not social science. I also moved because the culture had changed dramatically in the few years I was at Google. It became much more bureaucratic and political."

Why I left Google. What happened to my book. What I work on at Facebook. » THINK OUTSIDE IN: " Why I left Google
- What happened to my book ‘Social Circles’
- What I’m working on at Facebook
I never intended to write publicly about why I left Google, but it seems necessary to give people some facts that they can refer to, and not have people speculating and making stuff up.

Before I get into specifics, I want to say that I still hold tremendous respect for Google. I worked there for four years, loved the company, and busted a gut to help them ship great products. I learned an immense amount from a lot of very smart people."

Work At Home Special Report!

Work At Home Special Report!: ""I basically make $6,000-$8,000 a month online."
-Kelly Richards

I asked her about how she discovered her tight lip secret. "Honestly, it is easier than you would think, all I did was fill out a simple form to get front line access to the Home Profit System. I got the instructions kit and within a month I was making over $4,000 a month. The instructions are pretty simple, I am not a computer whiz, but I can use the internet. I fill forms and surf sites, I don't even have to sell anything and nobody has to buy anything. It's as easy as being on facebook.""

Samsung Galaxy S III Review - Watch CNET's Video Review

Samsung Galaxy S III Review - Watch CNET's Video Review: "Samsung's new flagship phone is one of the first handsets to use Corning's Gorilla Glass 2, a thinner, lighter, more responsive cover glass material that the two companies also say lets colors shine brighter. I definitely noticed the screen's sensitivity; at times I barely had to brush the display for a response. Colors looked bright and vibrant with the phone in a dark setting, but slide to full brightness and the screen sometimes seemed dark, especially when compared with other phones at full throttle.

Like typical AMOLED displays, the GS3 overdoes it on the greens,"

Samsung Galaxy S3: Supply Shortage Costs Samsung 2 Million in Sales - Mobile & Apps

Samsung Galaxy S3: Supply Shortage Costs Samsung 2 Million in Sales - Mobile & Apps: "they did not believe in their own products, but because they might have over-estimated the competition. In other words, aside from the iPhone and HTC's One X there's not much out there at the moment, which would have certainly helped Samsung," said Gartner analyst Carolina Milanesi.

In an interview with Reuters, Samsung boss J.K. Shin said that he expects its latest flagship smartphone to reach 10 million (in sales) by the end of July. Earlier this month, Samsung admitted that pre-orders for Galaxy S3 have reached 9 million. Now the Korean tech giant "

UPDATE 4-Judge halts sales of Samsung Galaxy Tab in U.S. | Reuters

UPDATE 4-Judge halts sales of Samsung Galaxy Tab in U.S. | Reuters: " A decisive injunction in one of the U.S. legal cases could strengthen Apple's hand in negotiating cross-licensing deals, where firms agree to let each other use their patented technologies.

Opponents of Apple say the iPhone and iPad maker is using patents too aggressively in its bid to stamp out competition.

"The relief being given to Apple here is extraordinary. Preliminary injunctions are rarely asked for and rarely granted," said Colleen Chien, a professor at Santa Clara Law in Silicon Valley.

"That this was a design patent and copying was alleged distinguish this case from plain vanilla utility patent cases. Cases involving these kinds of patents are based more on a counterfeiting theory than a competition theory, so I don't expect this case to have ramifications for all smartphone disputes, but rather those involving design patents and the kind of product resemblance we had here.""

UPDATE 4-Judge halts sales of Samsung Galaxy Tab in U.S. | Reuters: "ectronics selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the United States, giving the iPhone maker a significant win in the global smartphone and tablet patent wars.

Samsung's Galaxy touchscreen tablets, powered by Google's Android operating system, are considered by many industry experts to be the main rival to the iPad, though they are currently a distant second to Apple's device. Microsoft and Google are also preparing tablet offerings.

U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California, had previously denied Apple's bid for an injunction on the tablet and multiple Galaxy smartphones."
